i watched this forever ago and have been procrastinating doing this blog much like all my other ones. so here we go! Okay so I watched this just bc i kept seeing people on tiktok talking about it and I had also just finished pam and tommy and this came up as a suggestion. I feel like I had seen way to much sebastian stan in the past few weeks but what was one more movie. I liked this movie a good amount. Like it wasnt amanying it was okay ish. It wasnt reallly that memorable. I did really really like the colors and cinematography. The first 3/4 of the movie were very cool looking and colorful but the last chunk was jsut normal. The acting was really great and The plot wasnt somehting I really expected. It was so odd and really took a turn towards the end from yeah its good to meh. Like yes the ending was either shes dead or shes gonna escape. I think this movie barley falls under the “good for her” movie. Like if I had to make a persentage of good for her value it would be a 75%. Dont wanna say that I truly liked this movie but it wasnt bad you know. just meh. I dont have too much more to say about this so uh 6/10.

I dont feel like doing this review. I just dont bc I feel like theres so much to say and so little to say abotu this movie at the exact same time. Whatever here we go. The bar I had set for this movie was on the FLOOR. Like the lowest a bar is to be set. I was with my mom one night and she loves ryan renolds like adores him. One time we were just sitting having dinner and she randomly goes “hailey your biological father is ryan renolds”, and you know what? A little part of me really wants to believe her. no shame in that. Anyways we started watching it and it was slow at first but still lowkey way more funny than I expected it to be. Then when it picked up It PICKED UP. Like every joke landed and there wasnt any like…not funny jokes. That sounds dumb but its true. I actually really liked this movie. I also like how they brought in real gamers to play parts it just made it that much better. During the fight scene at the end the random props from movies was also so fun. How much do you think they had to pay chris evans for that 3 second cameo?? I mean he seems like the kind of guy to do it somewhat for free but still they had to have paid him a good amount for that. This movie reminded me of ready player one which I think was wayyy better than this. I think the whole genra of video game movies is just going to grow which could either be great or horrible. I give this movie an 8/10. Theres nothing really wrong with it but its not incredible either. I watched this so long ago too and found this review in my archives LOL.
i saw this movie forever ago but i still needed to make a blog on it so here we are. Ah i dont feel like making this one and ive been putting it off for soooooo long. I mean I saw this months ago I dont even think this blog should count or be read like its not going to be very fresh. okay here we go! Not the worst not the best and I for sure was getting some major bridgerton vibes which is not a good thing (the really bad netflix show not the books, ive never read them so i cant say anthing about them). I feel like period pieces have to be done a very spesific way ESPESIALLY if they are going to be musicals. Now I went into this with very high expectations. Its directed by joe wright who did pride and prejudice (lovelovelovelove and it still stands as one of my favorite movies), anna kernina (also love love love), AND attonement (again love love love it was incredible). Needless to say another joe wright period piece was something i was very very happy to go and see. I was… dissapointed. It didnt feel like his usual style! I dont even know why it didnt but it just didnt. The movie felt very long but also short and i kinda wanted it to just be over with. The cinematography was very pretty and I liked it a LOT. Which is usuall for me with joe wright bc I like is filming style. The story might be what I dont like but im sure if it was done better I wouldve liked it more. Also doesnt it feel wrong to catfish your personality for someone else. LIke shes not falling for him and if they are ever alone or have to have a real conversation its going to suck for her. I get hes living through his friend but still. Costumes were great duh. Music however was a huge nah. Something about it felt unfinished and rushed. The songs felt short to me and just seemed to pop up out of no where and not have a lot of structure to them. Acting was great! and yes I did cry a little at the end but not as much as I woulve if it was done better or done more like attonement! Overall MEH. I would be down to see it again and I prob should because I dont even beleive myself that I didnt like it. There was just somehting lack luster about it to me and like I said I cant explain it. Anyways I give this movie aaaaaaa 5/10. Yeah that seems fair. Maybe watch it maybe dont. LIke i said meh.
Spencer isnt a horror movie, but it sure does act like one. The sound score and the cinematography was the very first thing i noticed about the movie. the sound scour is almost like a horror movie and is very unerving to hear. nvm i’m wrighting this while watching the movie and it actually is a horror movie sound track. gosh the whole way it’s written is so unsettling. <that was written when I started the movie in febuary… I finished the movie in april FINALLY. So heres my review. CInematography like i said was incredible and stayed that way throughout the whole movie. Christen stweart was an amazing actress throughout this whole thing but i can totally see why the eyes of tammy faye got it over her. The movie itself feels very fake. And yes it has to be hard to make a movie on events that the public doesnt know the whole truth about but still the unecessary details and unrealistic-ness of it all kinda rewined it for me. The first half of the movie was great, I really really liked it. The second half not so much. They focused only on dianas general mental health probelems and not much else. I will say though they made her look like the amazing mother she was but they made her act and seem very very checked out from reality. I dont really think its right to make a movie about someone as amazing as diana and just focus it on her mental health and how poorly she was treated. I mean her whole reign as princess she made sure to be so much more than just “royaly”. She did so much more to help the public and the people and thats what everyone loved about her. I wasnt alive to know her but ive heard enough about her to know that she was so much more than “crazy”. Also the whole thing with anne bolyn or however you spell it was strange to say the least. Like i get the point in showing the commonalites between her story with king henery and the queen but it coulve just been refrences to her history not full blown apparitions. Again something that made diana seem crazy when it was not needed. Overall if we are ignoring all of that I didnt mind the movie. When the girl from the shape of water showed up I got exited because i know how good of an actress she is but she had such a little role. I mean she wasnt in the movie that much at all for how much talent she has. Towards the end I dont really get the point of making her and her seamstress fall in love, but it seems like it just falls right into all the other stuff they just threw in there for funsies. I did like how raw the movie felt. Like the acting felt real the shots didnt feel forced. It just felt very real. I think its a well done movie but im not a fan of the wrighting. Anyways i give this a 6/10. Thats about it and I dont really reccomend it.
i really didnt know what this was about at all going into it. i through that i woulnt like it at all either. abby talked it up so much and i was bored on a sunday night and just said why not. let me say i was so suprized when i actually loved this movie. im not very religious but tammy faye would make me the most devout catholic she just seems so kind and welcoming. Im not sure if she was like this in reall life at all but wow she just seems like such a sweet heart with so much live for everyone around her. I wish I had my own personal tammy to talk to she just seem like such a nice person to talk too. when i was watching the oscars and if i had seen this movie i for sure woulve voted for jessica to win best actress. when they said the eyes of tammy faye they ment it bc wow she really acted through her eyes. You could tell everything thwat was going on behind those eyes even when she covered it up with a little smile and laugh. Andrew gardfeild too did amazing like hes always been a great actor but he went to a whole new level with this one. I really hated his ncharacter though. he just used tammy for money and lied to her so much and pinned all their problems on her. tammy in the beginning you could tell wanted nothing more than to help others and yet all she got was hated on for her makeup which come on it couldve been way worse like give my girl a little break shes just being her happy self. like i said i have no clue if this movie portrayed how she really is but if she actually was like this i just adore her. Acting was incredible, cinematograpghy was amazing, costumes and makeup were great. The decorating in the house too like its stright out of my grandmas house who hasnt redecorated since the 90s its so fun. Gosh i just cant get over how bad i feel for tammy, she didnt deserfve the way people treated her. I give this movie a 10/10 i have no complaints and woulnt change a thing.
I actually really liked this movie. I wasnt sure really what to expect going into it and i still dont know if I can quite explain it if someone asked me what it was about. The movie im thinking of ending things feels very simmilar to this one in that some things just cant be explained. Its the lack of explanation thats done so well that makes movies like The house so good. Anyways it being stopmotion adds so much to this as a whole. There are so many paralells between all the stories I really do wonder if its all meant to take place in the same house. Lets start with the first story. Its so grey to start off and it had me wondering if it was going to get any better. it did. I think this story is about the effects of getting to attached to our matireal things that we forget what really matters. Like I sadi I dont think I should try and explain it too much but this first story is def the most unsetteling one. Its so strange and it reminds me of coraline. The second little short is also really good and I think is trying to say that patching up a big problem with a convienent solution doesnt last. The more I think about it the more I think the three short films are about climate change. How we are so infatuated in matiral things, ignore problems until they cant be ignored aymore, and the last one I think just ties in with the oceans rising. The second short was so normal until the big rat and little rat entered the picutre. It lowkey creeped me out and The whole thing with him talking to his dentist is even werider. Not somethign I really expected to see after the first short but it staerted to make sence at the end when we find out what was really going on. The third short way by far my favorite. I think the characters were lovable and fun. It also brought in personal struggle and moving on with life. I mean its the only one that has a cute and happy ending and I think its jsut the perfect way to end the movie as a whole. Like I said I reallly liked this movie as a whole and I might watch it again. I would reccomend this to anyone who likes unsetteling movies and anyone who enjoyed coraline a little to much as a kid (me). I give this a 7/10.
I havent seen the original nor did i know the story at all until I saw the trailer and i dont think that even counts as knowing the story. I started watching this movie in film class which was def a mistake bc I then had to cut me watching it up into chunks and I ended up finishing it at work. I like I said didnt knwo the story so I was convinced the whole time it would be a happy ending and then when I was finishing the movie I was at work. So there I am lowkey trying not to sob while making a latte for this lady who procedded to ask “are you okay ”. I told her i just finished watchign a sad movie and she dropped the topic. still embarassing. Anyways I really liked the movie. The first time I watched it there was something off about the way it was filmed and made to me. It felt very fake and the cinematography was off. It wasnt until the second time that I realaized its ment to look liek that. Its meant to look like it was filmed in a studio which I actually grew to love the look of. it makes it so much more magical in a way. the second time around watching it I reallly really loved it. I think the music is so pretty and the balcony song is for sure my favorite. The point in the song when the music swells up right before it picks up is beautiful. The dance scene is so amazing and fun too, theres jsut so much energy and I cant even imagine how much fun that was to film and be apart of. I dont really know what else to say about this film other than its gorgeous. I think the casting was done very well to and I had no clue the guy who plays tony can sing. Also the girl who plays maria got very very very lucky with this film. This is her first movie shes ever been in and she was only 18 when they started filming. They spotted her in a productionon of beauty and the beast. On top of it the age gap between her and Ansel is the same as me and timothee chalamet. so imagine me fresh out of high school starring in a romance movie with timothee chalamet. CRAZY RIGHT. AND ON TOP OF THAT her first movie ever and she worked with steven spilberg and her film is nomindated for 7 oscars. With all that being said she is an amazing actress with an even more amazing voice. She really did a great job. Overall I really liked this movie a lot more than I thought I would and im really happy I watched it. I give this a 9/10.
Okay, lets start with expectations going into this film. I thought it was going to be rated R bc all the promo posters and how... sexual they were. Like every shoot robert and zoe had it made it seem like a way more romantic movie than it was. Also in the trailers they even highlighted the very little romantic scenes they had. Then the PG-13 rating came out. I also going into it expected it to be not that amazing. The trailers looked great and I was genuinly exited but I was just expecting it to kinda be another flop DC movie. IT WAS NOT. I walked into my theater and it was sold out. Like jam packed with people. The second the soundtrack started playing I just had a good feeling about this movie. Like I was excited to see what was gonna happen. I think the way they started the movie was perfect. They set it up with the uncertainty of who was watching the family and why, then they set up the political tensions, and finally the murder itself that sets the plot rolling. Batmans monolouge was incredibe. Along with him talking the cinematography in the haloween scene is perfect. Gotham city just looks so real in this movie. like everything is so big if that makes sence. I love how dark and slightly blurry everything is too. It looks dirty and dingy but in places it feels clean and real. I think the joker also did a good job at showing gotham but not nearly on the scale that the batman did. I cant get over the cinematography in this movie its just so good. I mean its perfect for the aestetic of the film. Exept the part when batman flies that was not good lol. the go pro shot on his head was cool but just didnt fit and made me giggle. Okay the iceberg lounge. WHAT. Theres a lot of places in movies I wish I could go but partying in the iceberg lounge looks like so much fun. They also did an amazing job of showing just how huge that place is. The sets are incredible in this film aswell as the costimes. Just everything is so well done. Oswald is perfect. Like the guy who plays him did an amazing job. He just fits the part so well. When zoe kravitz first walked onto screen I was just in awe. She is so good for the role of the cat. Like shes stunning on top of it but she also does such a good job acting with her eyes like from the first scene you can just tell shes up to something. From the night club on the movie keeps you engaged but not over stimulated. Also lets talk about the soundtrack bc wow that was really good. I love that Batman has his own recodnizable theme and they did a great job not overusing it aswell. For a second in the movie I thoguht that Hanz Zimmer was the composer bc I heard in the backround of some of the pieces a clock ticking. Which if you remember my Mid tearm you know is one of his signature moves when it comes to composing soundtracks. I looked it up and it is not him but still it was a very good sountrack. At no points did I find the music too overpowering aswell. It all fit perfectly. Also nirvana being in the sound track just makes sence it really really fits the vibe. Back to cinematography theres this one scene where batman is in a dark hallway and its pitch back until guns start going off and thats the only source of light. Top favortie movie shots right there it was amazing. That shot combines with batmans theme fits absolutly perfect. I loved it. Getting more and more towards the end of the movie I kept thinking that it was the end. But still no complaints here I was glad it wanst over It was really really good. The casting for this movie was also perfect. Like everyone fits their roles so well. Overall I really really liked this movie I would for sure see it again. In fact I went to go see it again with abby and asha but during the middle of it the emergency lights went on right at the riddeler in the cafe scene and we all had to leave. Total bummer. Im gonna stop wrighting bc if I dont this review is going to be way too long. I reccomend to anyone who likes action movies or just movies at all. Its great 10/10 perfect score. I decided to just go through the oscar nominated films and the catagory ive seen the most of is the best animated feature so I thought why not just finish it off. So going into this I had no clue what it was about. By the name I assumed it would have something to do with fleeing a country or a situation but i didnt know for sure. When the movie started it says that the names, locations, and faces are altered to protect the identity of those being interviewed. I was really confused until the animated interview started. Then it hit that the whole reason this is animated at all is to protect those who are telling their story. This made the film hit that much harder. Like it really makes you think all the way through that these people are still not safe from things that happend in their childhood. This story is beautiufully told and keeps you ingaged throughout the whole thing. I dont think ive ever seen an animated documentary which was really new and different. Ive also never seen a movie that tells such a horrible story thats so real. All of this actually happend and yes we hear about this on the news and hear the politics about it but hearing it from someone who has been through it is very eye opeining. Theres so many times where you just stop and think that somewhere in the world someone is going through the same thing right now. That someone is trying to come to a different country in hopes for a better life and even traffiking themselves to do it. Like yes we hear about traffiking and how horrible it is but like i said hearing it from someones prespective thats been through it is so sad. I really liked how they switched the story from past to present and how everything that happend in his childhood still follows him. Another thing about this movie is that they dont shy away from how horrible humans can be towards eachother. Every scene you saw they didnt cut away or try to brush it off to get to the next part. They make you stay and watch. In the end of the movie when they bought a house and were happy and we have an animated shot of the mountians outside their home which switches to a real shot. This I think is something that makes the whole story real. It reminds you that everything you just watched isnt fake or fabricated. These things happened to a real family and that much worse is still going on. It almost checks you back into reality and brings you back. I watched this at work and not gonna lie I definitly had to keep myself from tearing up. I think this movie deserves best animated feature. Its amazingly told, emotional, and brings a new view to an ongoing situation for so many people. While I do love luca and woud love to see it get some attention I think this deserves it more. With that being said Flee has my vote. I give this movie a 10/10. I dont see anythign wrong with it and I think its something everyone needs to see.
I first heard about this movie in the summer of 2020. I was up in my room scrolling through tiktok and someone made an edit of Timothee dancing in the one club scene and it went VIRAL. I honestly think that edit is what jumpstarted his popularity amoung a bunch of teen girls. Anyways I looked at the comments and saw that it was from this movie. I never really watched it bc I knew it was never free anywhere so I never bought it. All I knew was that it was a love story that took place in italy (and that I loved how beautiful the movie looked). Fast forward to summer 2021. Im on hilton head island for 2 weeks with my friend Julia. We just spent sun up to sun down at the beach and rode our bikes home absoluty exausted. We had dinner and then went into the apartment. Julia suggested we watch a movie and I (remembering the boy we talked to at the beach earlier that kinda looked like timothee) suggested a movie with him in it. Thats when she asked if I had ever seen CMBYN. I had not. So we log onto her amazon account buy it and watch it. I fall asleep and never finish it. The next day we do the same rotine and I fall asleep AGAIN. Fast forward to January 2022. I want it to be summer so bad and The only thing on my mind is GRADUATION. I hate winter and I needed something to make me feel like its summer again. I factime Julia and shes with her Boyfriend who suggested I watch Call me by your name. I told him that I dont feel like buying it and he sends me a text with his youtube email and password. He says that he bought it just the other day and that I should watch it and read the book. So I log into his Youtube account and watch it. Sorry thats a long backstory for this movie but I just find it funny that I never actually got to watch it because I kept falling asleep. Whatever that whole story has nothing to do with the review. Starting off I love the opening credits of this movie. I think the font they use is rlly cute and really makes sence. I actually really love this movie, its gorgeous, the acting is good, its sad. BUT the age gap kills it. The big old age gap ruins the movie. Timothee looks like a child and Armie is way to old for him. Real bummer the age gap had to be that way bc other than that it would be a great movie. I really like the acting of the slow burn tension between them. The whole movie is very gental if that makes sence. Its soft and flowy and they even describe it when they are talking about the statues and how they are soft not rigid. The whole movie feels like one long tribute to summer romances. Anyways acting was amazing and very emotional. It feels very raw and real. The music is soft and almost like a memory. Its beautiful and probibly one of my favorite sound tracks right up there with LaLa Land and Interstellar. The Cinematography is gental just like the rest of the movie. No harsh or quick cuts. Its simple and still. Its simplicity tells the story in a way I dont think ive seen in a movie before. I actually really like the way the story is told its just such a calming movie that makes you wish it was summer. I give this move a 9/10 and it would have a 10/10 if the age gap wasnt werid and if oliver didnt give me the creepies at times. Yeah other than that I did really like it and would reccomend to anyone who wants a little feeling of summer.
